Together It’s Working
Education Testimonials Denise Windle, Head of Business and Economics, Bay House School “The EBP provides us with a range of activties and events. They organise Enterprise Days for year 9 and 10 (360 students in each), Business Challenges (including ‘Push Ahead’, ‘A Place in Europe’ and ‘Website Challenge’), Working Lunches and the planning and development of the new diploma courses. Our work with EBP has supported Business Studies, CDT , IT, Modern Foreign Languages, General Enterprise Skills and the Business Admin and Finance Diploma.
Their contact with relevant local businesses enables teachers to bring the topics they are teaching into reality, creates sustainable links with guest speakers that come into the school and gives young people opportunity to find out about careers.
They are alway helpful and appreciative of the time constraints in teaching and education. Staff are responsive when contacted and consider the best course of action cafrefully. Events are well organised and pupils are treated with respect.”
Gill Sommers, 14-16 Manager, Fareham College “The EBP has run team building events for Year 10 students and secured work placements for Young Apprenticeships in catering, hairdressing, health and social care and business.
The EBP has close liaison with employers, a greater understanding of their needs and we have the security of ‘safe’ work placements for our students. I always find the staff to be efficient, professional and flexible. I have been particulary impressed this year with how quickly they were able to secure placements for our students.”
Mark Smith, Subject Leader Careers, Brune Park Community College “The past five years working with EBP have made a huge difference to the quality of my work in relation to enterprise and embedding it into the curriculum.
We have done Enterprise Challenges, (including a very enjoyable CSI day recently) Working Lunches, Interview Days and ‘Step into..’ events with an occupational or curriculum area focus. We have also participated in area wide EBP Business Challenges and been found extended work placements for students.
The EBP has brought a wide range of employers/business people into school to share their experience and provide links to the world of work and students have developed enterprise skills, especially teamwork, financial capability, creativity and determined attitude, which will be valuable in their later working lives.
I have excellent relationships with the EBP team. They are enthusiastic, flexible and creative in their approach to enriching curriculum areas and supporting subject teachers; – very stimulating to work with.”
