Celebrity Chef Cook Off

Pupils from Horndean Technology College who won our Celebrity Chef Challenge last year got the chance to cook lunch for Steve Finnan and Hayden Mullins, players for Portsmouth Football Club, at Highbury College's Chimes restaurant in Winston Churchill Avenue.
Emma Hale, Samantha Ashman, Charlie Bucknell and Alise Pettitt, known as 'The Cheffetes' prepared a three-course lunch for the players and special guests, including corn-fed chicken breast with pink Champagne sauce.
Sue Pickering, Teacher at Horndean Technology College said 'The whole experience has been fantastic for our students. First of all cooking live on stage in Gunwharf Quays, then actually cooking in a professional kitchen, the girls would have been exited no matter who had attended the lunch, but actually having players along from Portsmouth Football Club added real sparkle to proceedings'.
The girls told us they had thoroughly enjoyed the amazing experience of a once in a lifetime opportunity and Steve Finnan said: ' The girls did an amazing job in the kitchen and their food was delicious'.
