PUSH AHEAD Challenge 09-10
Celebrating 100 Years Of Flying In South Hampshire

PUSH AHEAD is an annual entrepreneurs' innovation challenge led by South Hampshire businesses. It aims to bring schools and businesses together from across South Hampshire to develop young peoples' innovation and entrepreneurial skills. Launched in 2007 and now in its third year, PUSH AHEAD has grown and improved each year. This year we are teaming up with Southampton Airport and BAA Communities Trust, NATS, BDO Stoy Hayward and NXP Semiconductors.
The official launch of the challenge was hosted by the National Air Traffic Control Service in the Swanwick Centre on Tuesday September 22nd 2009. At the launch students met industry experts in person, including the chief executive of NATS Paul Barron. Teams will submit their projects for judging and will present the products to judges at the new Ocean terminal in March 2010 in a Dragons' Den event.
Each of the teams will work with a mentor from local businesses to consider new business initiatives and develop a new product service that reflects environmental and sustainability issues and helps to make the passengers' journey easy, fast and friendly, in line with Southampton Airport's 'breeze through' ethos.
Chairman of PUSH Sean Woodward said "Not only will this challenge help our young people develop their own entrepreneurial skills but also learn about how important flight and Southampton Airport are to our sub-region"
