The EBP has a Board of Directors, all of whom give their time voluntarily. The Board comprise of senior representatives from business and education. Their role is to oversee the strategic direction of the company and to ensure that the company operates to the highest standards.

Dawn Baxendale
Executive Director for Corporate Policy & Development
Has over 19 years in depth experience of working in all three tiers of local government, 11 of which is at a senior management level. This ranges from the inner city environments of Portsmouth, Wigan, Kirklees and Doncaster and also in rural, coastal and suburban environments of the Isle of Wight, Eastleigh and Havant. Dawn's corporate, cross-departmental, economic development/regeneration, partnership and change management experience over the past 19 years has given her a comprehensive knowledge of the local government business. Dawn believes she brings significant experience, skills, enthusiasm and commitment to the EBP board
Alison Slater
Community Programmes Manager, IBM UK
Alison has a wide range of work experiences in her career including: catering, retail, factory work, IT Industry, childcare, teaching, cleaning, teaching English abroad, life guard, customer care. Alison is currently involved in a role which touches on the community and schools promoting IT and life skills for students at school and also young people in the community.
Robin Johns
Robin has enjoyed two contrasting careers. He began working life as a professional cricketer (3 years). He then pursued a varied career in further and adult education (Lecturer, Manager, Inspector - HMI for 3 years with Youth, Adult and Community Education specialism - freelance consultant, and over the past decade Local Authority Officer with Hampshire and Portsmouth.
His most recent appointment as Assistant Director and Head of Community Learning for Portsmouth City Council, to 2006.
Since 'retirement' Robin has continued to work as a self-employed consultant, with areas of interest including all aspects of life long learning, locality working, and organisational development

Francoise Murat
Francoise Murat&Associates Ltd
Born in Switzerland, Francoise Murat qualified with a degree in economics and worked in telecommunications for global network operators in the UK, France, Italy, India, South Africa and the Philippines.
Following a move as business development director to an international anti-counterfeiting company she dealt with governments, state agencies and brand owners such as L'Oreal, Gucci, British American Tobacco, Nestle and Glaxo SmithKline.
In 2005 Francoise decided that the time had come to satisfy her creative side and pursue her true passions - Garden Design and Interior Design. She set up Francoise Murat&Aossociates and uses her extensive experience in all interior and garden projects.
Francoise speaks fluent English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Trevor Cartwright
Trevor’s career started with an electrical engineering apprenticeship at Portsmouth Dockyard in 1962. He moved to Vosper Thornycroft in 1968 and, during his 41 years’ service, spent half that period in Production and the other half in Personnel/HR finishing as HR Director on the Board of VT Shipbuilding. During his HR career, Trevor supported company acquisitions and market test bids successfully managing the transition of 12 companies/bids into VT, supporting 2,500 employees. His style of HR Management was very much “hands on” and to be seen assisting the business. He was awarded the MBE for services to the Defence Industry in 1995.
He is married with three grown up children and four grandchildren; has been a keen sailor for 50 years - mainly racing yachts and dinghies; currently he is a member of the Hayling Island and Warsash Sailing Clubs.
Since retiring in December 2008, he has worked as an HR Consultant, and became a Governor of Highbury College, Portsmouth. He is also a Councillor for Fareham Borough Council (representing the Warsash Ward for the last 10 years) and his currently Deputy Mayor of Fareham.
Richard Tonge
Richard graduated in 1979 with a BA(Hons.) Economics and due to the change of government, immediately had to change his career plans. He embarked upon a career to qualify as a CPFA accountant, and had a series of promotions culminating in the role of Principal Accountant for a DLO/DSO, faced with Compulsory Competitive Tendering.
Subsequent to that he then changed career and became a lecturer in accounting, initially on professional accounting courses and then changed emphasis, joining the University of Portsmouth Business School to teach on undergraduate and post-graduate courses and undertake research.
More recently he became Associate Dean(Students) and in that role has a varied and wide ranging brief.
He is also a Trustee/Director of ‘The Rowans Hospice’ and a Director of the Portsmouth Area Regeneration Trust (PART) – trading as South-Coast Money Line (SCML).
Richard was born in Portsmouth, attended all levels of the education system in the area and has been married to Rita for 30 years. They have to children and two grand children. All of whom will have experienced the Portsmouth and South Hampshire education system when Ruby, (their youngest grand-daughter), starts school in 2011. He is also a season-ticket holder at Fratton Park !
Steve Frampton
Steve was educated in Weymouth, where he did more sport than studying. He was the first in his family to attend Grammer School and going to H.E. After learning how to learn at Leicester University, he graduated with a First Class Honours in Geography, Geology and Archaeology in 1979 and later obtained a PGCE Distinction in Geography, Geology, PE and TEFL at Keele University in 1980.
Steve now has 30 years experience of the F.E. sector in Hampshire at Price's College, Fareham Tertiary College, Peter Symond's College, St Vincent College as Deputy Princiapl and now has the best job in Portsmouth as Principal of Portsmouth College.

Cath has professional qualifications in working with young people and informal education and has over 20 years experience of delivering and managing community based projects for young people. She has an MA in Management and Change and has significant experience of initiating and leading partnership projects.
